Alison Krauss

Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. She and LeAnn Kymes were two of the youngest recipients of a Grammy Award. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23rd, 1971) is an American bluegrass and country musician as well as singer. Her career in music began at an early age competing in local contests before when she was 10 years old and making her first recording at the age of 14. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and recorded her first self-titled album on the label in the year 1987. After that, she was asked to join Alison Krauss Union Station, which is the group she performs together. Her first album as a collective with this band came out in the year 1989.
